Advantages of Signing Up Early
Currently, the manufacturing plant is scheduled to come online in early 2009. This means that many customers will wait as long as a year or more before they can get their system installed. However there there are several advantages to reserving your system now:
Customers who sign up and reserve their system now lock in their rent today. Even if the local utility rates are higher when their system is actually installed, the customer will enjoy the lower rent calculated when they signed up. If, by some miracle, the rates actually go down before their installation, the customer can choose whichever rent would be lower.
Customers who sign up early will get their installation sooner. If a customer waits until the plant is completed, there will be tens and possibly hundreds of thousands of customers who will get their system before them. We anticipate that the manufacturing plant will begin producing panels at the commercial scale by the beginning of 2009. The Company will begin installing systems on select residential customer homes as soon as panels are available. Availability of the first panels depends upon the customer's geographic location in relation to where the initial franchisees will be.
Also, there is little disadvantage. If the customer decides before the installation that they do not want the system, then they simply cancel. If they cancel for no reason, the company may decide to put them on a list of people who we will not service in the future.
The reason for this is that the company has invested considerable time and company resources which impedes their ability to bringing the solution to other customers who are also waiting. If the customer has a reason for canceling, we will be both understanding and fair, but if they just "changed their mind. . ." That is like calling 911 because you were bored. Important resources were allocated that could have been used elsewhere.
